Title or Location: Calming serenity
I love painting animals in unexpected colours, and this was one of a series I produced during 2020. It's painted in acrylics on canvas, and it was quite liberating to concentrate more on the gentle sweeping of the colours, rather than the minute details. I chose a grey background to make the horse stand out.I looked at reference photos for the shape of the head from Pixabay, but largely used my imagination for the end result.

My usual medium is coloured pencils and either pastel mat or draughting film for the surface.A ref photo from Pixabay was used but altered parts.I used Polychromos pencils and Caran Dache on draughting film, I like how you can get lots of layers and smooth surface.

Title or Location: Harry the Hedgehog
The insperation for this one came from the fact we have had a family of Hedgehogs living in our garden for a few years now and I feed them every night, we have an upturned large broken flower pot where we put their food to keep it dry so they know where to find it.My wife suggested I paint one and she was so pleased with the end result that she said you are not selling it I would like it on our garden room wall, so there it hangs but I didnt really mind because I think it is quite a pleasing p

Title or Location: The Crow and the Moon Pool
In this piece, a solitary crow perches elegantly on the edge of a moonlit pool, its feathers glistening with an ethereal sheen. The scene is set within the hauntingly beautiful ruins of an ancient courtyard, where ivy-clad arches and weathered stone walls whisper tales of forgotten times. The moon, full and luminous, casts a silvery glow across the serene water, creating an almost magical reflection that seems to merge the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Flickering torches line the passa
